Privacy and seclusion
Tranquil, serene spots suit the off-grid life best. Deep in the woods with the wildlife, or on a hilltop with the view to yourself.
Access for installation
A level approach with openings at least three metres wide, so we can deliver and install the cabin. Guests should be able to reach it comfortably in a typical 2 wheel drive vehicle.
A reliable water supply
Mains or a treated spring supply. We are happy to advise on appropriate contractors, water specialists and treatment options for securing a water supply to the site.
Off-road guest parking
A parking area at the start of the guest journey, where the log and wellie stores live too. Potentially an alternative winter parking location, if the original parking location is unreachable in winter.

Only if you want to. On the Standard landhost we manage everything from first enquiry to check-out, so we will not be asking you to run out and top up the salt and pepper. Hands-on routes exist for landowners who want the involvement and the larger share that comes with it.
The simple on-the-ground jobs between stays: changeovers, restocking, keeping paths and parking clear, and flagging anything that needs attention. Structural upkeep and cabin repairs stay with Shacks.
Privacy and seclusion first: a peaceful spot where guests feel genuinely away from it all. Practically, we need access for delivery and installation with openings at least three metres wide, a reliable water supply, and off-road parking for guests. Not sure? On our managed routes, the Shacks team handles bookings, guest communication, changeovers and upkeep. We built the cabins and we run the holidays, so nothing is handed off to a third party.
Yes. Two of our four routes are ownership routes: buy the cabin and have us run it as one of our own, or run it yourself on our booking platform with our marketing behind you. Finance is available through our partner Oxbury Bank, the only UK bank dedicated to the rural economy.
